Accommodation name:
Relais Luce Florence
Number of stays:
2023.12.10 – 2023.12.13 (3 nights)
Location (How to get there):
5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella Station
I made a reservation through Hotels.com, and they sent me a map and building entrance via email.
Price:
Approximately 180,000 won per night (twin room, Duomo? Not dome view) (City tax excluded, paid at check-out) (Dome view is more expensive)
Meals and cooking:
included.
(refer to photo)
Bathroom (shower room):
Separate toilet, shower booth available
Computer:
None
Facilities and cleanliness:
Rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean, but not hotel level.
Internal rules:
– Semi-automatic elevator
As shown in the first photo, there is an elevator inside Ajungmun.
The elevator will only work if all doors are closed.
Be careful as you must close the door manually.
Is this a hotel that Koreans often use? There is even a sign in Korean saying to keep all doors closed.
– Breakfast
You will be given a breakfast menu paper upon check-in, and you must submit it before the counter closes.
If you want to change the menu, talk to the counter, change the contents of the paper, and submit it.
If no changes are made, the previous submission will be prepared.
You can also eat on the terrace, so you can decide every morning.
Once you’re seated, they ask you if you want to eat here and prepare it for you.
Even if it rains at dawn?
There is an area with a cloth roof, so there is a table that doesn’t get wet, so it can be used at any time.
– Suitcase storage
You can keep your suitcase both before check-in and after check-out (please contact us in advance to confirm).
If you leave your suitcase before check-in, it will be stored in your room upon check-in.
I was worried because it was a B&B + hotel style, but it seemed safe.
Staff area inside the hallway after check-out?
Store it in the same place.
– Common entrance/accommodation password
Before checking in, press the bell on the directions provided and enter the common entrance.
You can leave your luggage before check-in, or after your visit, they will give you a piece of paper with two passwords written on them, so you can take them with you and enter them when entering and exiting.
Staff friendliness:
Very friendly.
It’s run by a brother and sister, and they ask you if you’re in the mood when you eat, and even lend you an umbrella if there’s rain in the forecast.
I only went to drop off my suitcase before check-in, but I received my email address and when the room is ready before check-in time, I will be notified by email (Naver email is also available).
Surrounding environment:
It’s near the station, so a lot of people pass by.
It’s a lively street even at night
Pros:
Close to the station, spacious room (there is space to pass by even if you unfold the suitcase vertically, I don’t know what the other rooms are like)
Disadvantages:
Not a 24-hour front desk, towels not changed every day, maybe once every 3 days… There is a paper printer in the accommodation, so you may need to bring your own towels (a B&B feature), the bed feels too soft, the bathroom is a bit small. It’s small, but has everything you need, including a drying rack to dry towels.
Who would like this accommodation?
Newlyweds (we actually met a lot), friends (casual), family (large)
How would you rate it?
A (If it were a hotel, it would be B, but since it is a B&B + hotel type, it is not a big concern if you are aware of the disadvantages above)
