I made the reservation for my son, who wanted to visit Akihabara. Since we arrived in the afternoon on the first day, I thought it would be convenient to book a place near Ueno. However, unfortunately, my son got injured right after arriving at the airport (as mentioned in my previous post). This made walking quite difficult, so the accommodation felt a bit far.
The room was a Deluxe Twin Room, and that was the only space available. There was no room to unfold the luggage, so we had to place our two suitcases on the sofa. There was a clothes hanger next to the sofa, making good use of the wall space.
The bed was a bit firm and the pillows were too low, which made it slightly uncomfortable. However, each bed had a USB port, which made charging our phones convenient.
I liked the fact that the TV had YouTube available. We could watch YouTube in Korean, which was a nice touch.
The bathtub was small but deep, making it suitable for a relaxing bath. The shower space was spacious, and the water pressure was good.
The room provided a kettle, safe, and hairdryer, which were all in good condition. The refrigerator was a bit small and not very cold.
On the second floor, there was an ice maker, microwave, vending machine, washing machine, and dryer. It cost 300 yen for one use of the washing machine and dryer. Due to my son’s injured leg, we made good use of the ice maker.
On the ground floor in the lobby, there were several Tokyo guidebooks available in different languages. However, I couldn’t find any in Korean. I’m not sure if they were all taken or if they simply didn’t have any. I deducted one star for this.

It’s a great place to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and enjoy a leisurely walk.

This bustling market street is a shopper’s paradise, offering a wide range of products such as clothes, accessories, cosmetics, and fresh produce. Located within Ueno Park, this museum showcases a diverse collection of both Japanese and international artworks. If your son is a fan of anime and manga, he would definitely enjoy a trip to Akihabara. While it may be a bit further from the accommodation, it is worth the visit. As a hub for otaku culture, Akihabara boasts an array of anime and manga shops, electronic stores, and themed cafes. It’s a unique and exciting district that showcases the modern and technological side of Tokyo.
To unwind and relax after a day of exploring, I suggest visiting Oedo Onsen Monogatari. This traditional hot spring theme park offers a variety of hot springs, saunas, and relaxation facilities. It’s a great place to experience Japanese bathing culture and indulge in some rejuvenation.
In conclusion, despite the slight inconvenience of the accommodation’s location, tourists staying at the Monday Premium Ueno Okachimachi can enjoy various attractions within close proximity.
