Surrounding Atmosphere: Although the area is near Kabukicho, it is very quiet as it is mainly filled with hotels.
Overall Satisfaction: When I made the reservation, there were no reviews available, but the room appeared spacious and nice, so I booked it. The room was indeed spacious, enough to comfortably accommodate two of us with two 28-inch suitcases open. There was even a sofa, table, and a bathtub where extending feet fully was possible (based on a height of 168cm). The room also had a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos.
Regarding breakfast, it was a combination of Japanese and Western styles, costing 1,650 yen per person. I purchased breakfast coupons during check-in, allowing flexibility in choosing the days to have breakfast.
I inquired about early check-in, and it was possible, but with an additional charge of 1,000 yen per person for every hour. I decided not to choose this option. Late check-out was also possible, but the price varied depending on the timing. Extending until 1:00 pm incurred an extra charge of 5,000 yen. I didn’t choose this option either.
It took about 20 minutes to walk from NEX Tokyo Station to the accommodation. However, since I walk slowly and have low stamina, I ended up taking a taxi when going to Shinjuku. Moreover, there is a small ion supermarket open until midnight right next to the accommodation, as well as a Lawson convenience store. Cross the pedestrian crossing in front of the accommodation, and there’s a FamilyMart. If you walk a bit further, you’ll find a McDonald’s, a banchan (Korean side dishes) shop, and a 7-Eleven. If you walk even more, there’s a Don Quijote store. I took a taxi because I was too exhausted, but the basic fare was applicable for this distance. Adjacent to the pedestrian crossing is a bus stop, where you can take bus number 86, which is very convenient. This bus commutes between Ikebukuro and Shibuya.
Although the location was slightly disappointing for someone like me with poor physical fitness, the room size was great. Communication in English was smooth when my Japanese faltered. The facilities were clean, and the bedding was very soft. I had a pleasant stay for four nights.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they didn’t clean the room during my stay. They only emptied the trash and replaced the towels. Also, there was no running water at some point.
