Overall satisfaction: I stayed at Perl Hotel Shinjuku Akebonobashi and found it to be a pleasant experience. It took around 30 minutes to walk from Shinjuku or approximately 10 minutes by train or bus. The surrounding area was peaceful, and there were convenient amenities such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants nearby, which was a plus. The facilities were well-maintained and clean, although the soundproofing could be improved as I could hear cleaning noises at times. Nevertheless, considering the price, I was satisfied with the accommodation. The location was easy to find, which was another advantage. I would be willing to revisit in the future. Additionally, there were many Korean tourists staying at the hotel, which added to the youthful atmosphere, which I personally enjoyed. Based on your stay at Perl Hotel Shinjuku Akebonobashi, there are several nearby tourist attractions and activities that I would recommend for you to explore during your visit.
One highly recommended attraction is the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, which is just a short distance away from your accommodation. This beautiful garden offers a serene escape from the bustling city and is known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant cherry blossoms during the spring season. It’s a perfect place to relax, have a picnic, or take a leisurely stroll.
Another must-visit attraction nearby is the Meiji Shrine. Located in the heart of Tokyo, this iconic shrine is dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. It offers a tranquil atmosphere and a chance to experience traditional Japanese culture. Take a walk through the Torii gate and explore the expansive grounds, which include a forested area, serene gardens, and even a museum showcasing various artifacts.
If you’re interested in shopping and entertainment, I recommend exploring the lively district of Shinjuku. With its bright neon lights, bustling streets, and countless department stores, this area offers a vibrant atmosphere and a wide range of shopping options. Don’t miss the famous Kabukicho, Tokyo’s red-light district, which is known for its unique nightlife experiences and entertainment venues.
For a taste of traditional Japanese cuisine and cultural experiences, head to the nearby Omoide Yokocho, also known as “Memory Lane” or “Piss Alley.” This narrow alley is lined with small eateries, serving delicious local dishes like yakitori (grilled skewered chicken), ramen, and sushi. It’s a great place to sample authentic Japanese street food and immerse yourself in the local dining scene.
Lastly, consider visiting the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observation deck. Located in Shinjuku, this free observatory provides panoramic views of Tokyo’s skyline, including iconic landmarks such as Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree. It’s a great way to get an overview of the city and capture some breathtaking photos.
Overall, staying at Perl Hotel Shinjuku Akebonobashi offers easy access to various tourist attractions and activities. From exploring serene gardens and shrines to experiencing vibrant city life and indulging in delicious local food, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this lively and diverse area of Tokyo.
