Overall Satisfaction Description: I stayed here for six nights. Compared to other places in Tokyo, I found the price to be relatively affordable. However, the location was not ideal. On the day of arrival, I was extremely tired and just wanted to check-in and rest. However, when I laid down, I constantly heard the sound of trains passing by at intervals of three minutes, making it impossible for me to sleep. I even considered purchasing earplugs, but in the end, I decided to wake up early instead and didn’t buy them. I didn’t realize how sensitive my hearing was until this experience, and it was quite difficult for me. As for the surroundings, there were chain stores and plenty of restaurants, but I couldn’t find any outstanding dining options. However, I did appreciate one thing – there was a Sumida River right next to the hotel, and I enjoyed going for a jog in the morning. But overall, the disadvantages were too significant, and I don’t think I would choose to stay here again. Oh, and another disappointment was that despite booking two months in advance and indicating my preference for a high floor, I was given the lowest floor on the 4th level. It was truly disappointing. Anyway, it was a tough six days.
While staying at Ryoku View Hotel, despite a few drawbacks, there are still some nearby tourist attractions and activities that I would recommend to make the most of your stay in Ryoku.
One of the advantages of the hotel’s location is its close proximity to the station, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding areas. Given that, I would highly recommend taking a short train ride to the nearby vibrant neighborhood of Asakusa. Asakusa is home to the famous Senso-ji Temple, which is a must-visit for its stunning architecture, historical significance, and vibrant atmosphere. You can also take a stroll through Nakamise Shopping Street, where you’ll find traditional Japanese snacks, souvenirs, and street performers.
If you’re interested in exploring nature and taking in beautiful views, a visit to Tokyo Skytree is a great choice. Located not too far from the hotel, Tokyo Skytree is a towering observation tower that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. You can also enjoy a meal or indulge in some shopping at the nearby Tokyo Solamachi.
For those looking to experience traditional Japanese culture, a visit to the Edo-Tokyo Museum is highly recommended. This museum showcases the history and culture of Tokyo during the Edo period, giving you a fascinating insight into the city’s past. You can immerse yourself in the exhibits, learn about traditional customs, and even try on a kimono for a memorable photo opportunity.
Another nearby attraction worth visiting is the Sumida Aquarium. Located next to the hotel, this aquarium offers a unique underwater experience with diverse marine life. You can witness stunning displays of jellyfish, enjoy interactive exhibits, and even have the chance to touch some of the marine creatures.
Lastly, if you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine, you can explore the various dining options around the hotel. While the reviewer mentioned that they couldn’t find any outstanding dining options, there are still plenty of local restaurants that serve authentic Japanese dishes. From ramen shops to izakayas, you can indulge in a variety of culinary delights and savor the flavors of Ryoku.
In conclusion, despite the drawbacks mentioned by the reviewer, there are still several nearby tourist attractions and activities that can enhance your stay at Ryoku View Hotel. Whether it’s exploring the vibrant neighborhood of Asakusa, enjoying panoramic views from Tokyo Skytree, immersing yourself in traditional Japanese culture at the Edo-Tokyo Museum, or experiencing underwater wonders at the Sumida Aquarium, there are plenty of options to make your trip memorable. Additionally, don’t forget to venture out and try the local cuisine at the various dining establishments in the area.
