I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days. At first, I thought it was a bit far as I dragged my suitcase and checked Google Maps, but it turned out to be closer than I thought. There was even a drugstore on the way, so I couldn’t just pass by without stopping. It was great to find everything I wanted to buy in Japan at the drugstore near Shimbashi. The prices for medication and other products were more affordable compared to other drugstores.
Now, let’s get back to talking about the accommodation. The room was surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel. I felt a bit guilty for being the only one staying in such a large room. I’ve always stayed in cramped hotels with my friends, so I would definitely recommend this place for groups of two or more. I requested a room with a window that could be opened, and although there was a curtain, I could still see the opposite building. However, it was not a concern as they were decently dressed.
There is a large communal bath on the 12th floor, which had a similar atmosphere to Korean bathhouses, but this one had an outdoor area. Since I had it all to myself, it was quite enjoyable. There are also convenience stores, pharmacies, and a supermarket called Kinokuniya nearby, which was convenient. Kinokuniya has a good selection of packaged food that doesn’t spoil easily. It’s that close!
As for transportation, in addition to the Yamanote Line, there are many other train lines available, so it was very convenient for me. I took the Narita Express from Narita Airport and got off at Shimbashi Station, and they didn’t charge me any additional fees when I showed them my Narita Express ticket. I wonder why that was? Still curious about it, haha.
One drawback of the Kanade Shimbashi is that it only has Netflix, and YouTube is not available. As a YouTube enthusiast, I was a bit disappointed. I’m heading to REMPLUS Ginza tomorrow! I’ll try it out and leave a review later.
(Note: The accommodation cost of 248,885 KRW mentioned in the review is approximately $222 USD)
As a travel expert, I would highly recommend tourists staying at Kanade Shimbashi to explore the nearby attractions and activities. Located near Shimbashi Station, this accommodation offers convenient access to various train lines, making it an ideal base for exploring Tokyo.
For those interested in shopping, the drugstore near Shimbashi is a must-visit. It offers a wide range of products at affordable prices, including Japanese medication and other items. Additionally, Kinokuniya, a nearby supermarket, is perfect for purchasing packaged foods that don’t spoil easily. It’s conveniently located within walking distance, allowing guests to stock up on snacks and other essentials.
When it comes to sightseeing, the area surrounding Shimbashi Station is filled with exciting attractions. Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most upscale shopping districts, is just a short distance away. Visitors can explore high-end fashion boutiques, department stores, and enjoy gourmet dining options. REMPLUS Ginza, as mentioned in the review, is worth visiting for a unique experience.
Another recommended destination is Tsukiji Fish Market, which is renowned for its bustling atmosphere and fresh seafood. Tourists can witness the tuna auctions early in the morning and indulge in delicious sushi at nearby restaurants. Tsukiji Hongan-ji, a Buddhist temple with striking architecture, is also worth a visit.
For history enthusiasts, a trip to Tokyo Tower is a must. Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the observation deck and learn about the tower’s significance in Japanese history. Nearby lies Zojo-ji Temple, a serene Buddhist temple known for its beautiful gardens and historic grave sites.
Lastly, art lovers should not miss the Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, which is located within walking distance from the accommodation. This contemporary art gallery showcases innovative and thought-provoking artworks by Japanese and international artists.
Overall, with its excellent location and easy access to various attractions, Kanade Shimbashi is an ideal choice for tourists looking to explore Tokyo’s vibrant offerings. Whether it’s shopping in Ginza, indulging in fresh seafood at Tsukiji Fish Market, or immersing in art at Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, there’s no shortage of exciting experiences awaiting visitors staying at this accommodation.
