To commemorate the completion of flight/accommodation reservations for an independent trip to Spain/Portugal from January to February 2024, I am sharing a list of hotel recommendations I created to help friends and I choose accommodations.
So far, I have traveled independently to over 20 countries, and fortunately, I have never had a problem choosing an accommodation.
I created my own list of hotels by searching Google ratings, travel reviews, HotelsCombined ratings, and Booking.com.
I hope there is someone who finds it useful.
Search conditions are around 200,000 won per night/twin bed/Google rating generally 4.5 or higher/neat room condition/there must be an elevator (☆☆☆)/there must be space to spread out two 24-inch suitcases/there must be a shower due to the structure of the shower room It is to the extent that water will not leak out.
Madrid is our last destination and we are arriving by plane and planning to go on a tour of Toledo and Segovia, so there is no need to go to other cities, so we mainly visited the areas near Plaza Sol and Plaza Mayor rather than near Atocha Station.
If you have a trip to Renfe from another city due to your Madrid itinerary, the area near Atocha Station would be good.
The prices below are based on 3 nights in mid-February 2024 (search time: late August).

1. Catalonia Gran Via –
-540,000 won, free cancellation possible (Trip.com)
-22m^2, 2 single or double
-Many reviews say the room is small
-There seems to be an additional charge for the Gran Via street view (said to be noisy at night), or the inside view (said to be quiet).
-WiFi does not work well
-It looks like the shower room has a structure that prevents water from leaking.

-9 minutes walk from Sol Square, good for shopping as it is on Gran Via Street, and there is a subway station nearby.
2. Hotel Sardinero Madrid –
-Standard room 390,000 won (19m^2, Trip.com), Deluxe room 440,000 won (22m^2, Trip.com)
-The shower room seems to be well separated.
-It’s a bit far from Sol Square (about 20 minutes on foot), but reviews say you can walk to tourist attractions.
-The room condition seems to be good, there is a rooftop.
-2 minutes from subway station
-8.8/10 points
3. H10 Villa de la Reina Boutique Hotel –
-600,000 Won (Basic Room 15m^2, 1 double bed, Trip Bitoz), 680,000 Won (Classic Room 22m^2), free cancellation, there will probably be a free breakfast event if you go to the H10 public homepage.
-Located on Gran Via Street
-8.5/10
5. Hotel Regina –
-820,000 won (20m^2), free cancellation, breakfast included, queen bed or 2 super singles
-3 minutes walk from Sol Square, great location
– Many Koreans recommend it to wandering cafes.

-Very clean, friendly host, breakfast included (European style, yogurt and snacks provided upon check-in)

-When I inquired with the host, I was told that luggage could be stored separately.
You can leave your luggage after checking out.

-In front of Plaza Mayor
-There is a terrace with a view of the square.
