General satisfaction description:

I stayed with two other adults. As the room description stated semi-double beds (2), I requested an extra bed in the special requests section. I wasn’t sure if they would accommodate all the requests, but upon check-in, I asked a staff member if there were three beds, and they confirmed. Firstly, the hotel is not very close to Shinjuku Station (about a 10-minute walk). The area around Shinjuku Station is crowded and noisy, but the vicinity of the hotel is quiet and there aren’t many people, which I actually liked. However, walking to the main area took some distance, so I deducted one star for that. There is a convenience store nearby, a Lawson and a 7-Eleven, and although I didn’t use it, there’s also a convenience store within the hotel. The hotel is quite large and is said to be an old one, but the facilities are reasonably clean and good. The room size was comfortable for the three of us and there were no inconveniences. The only downside is that the soundproofing is not so good; we could hear laughter from the neighboring room and thumping sounds from the room above. The cleaning service was done well, and they restocked towels and water whenever we went out. It was nice to have a Komeda Coffee shop nearby across the street, and since the bus stop is close, I recommend using the bus for transportation.

Based on your stay at Geio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku, I would like to recommend several nearby tourist attractions and activities. Despite the hotel’s quieter location, there are still plenty of exciting things to do nearby.

One option is to explore Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. This stunning park is a tranquil oasis in the bustling city, offering a peaceful retreat for nature lovers. You can stroll among beautiful gardens, relax by the ponds, and even enjoy a traditional tea ceremony. It’s an ideal place to unwind and escape the fast-paced atmosphere of Shinjuku.

Another must-visit attraction is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, also known as the Tokyo City Hall. Located just a short distance away, this skyscraper offers panoramic views of the city from its observation decks. On a clear day, you can see breathtaking vistas, including iconic landmarks like Mount Fuji. Best of all, admission is free, making it a budget-friendly option.

If you’re interested in Japanese culture, I recommend visiting Kabukicho, Shinjuku’s famous entertainment district. Known for its neon lights and bustling nightlife, Kabukicho is the perfect place to experience the vibrancy of Tokyo. You can explore various bars, restaurants, and game arcades, immersing yourself in the energetic atmosphere of the city.

For shopping enthusiasts, Shinjuku is home to several major department stores, including the famous Isetan and Takashimaya. These upscale establishments offer a wide range of products, from fashion and cosmetics to gourmet food and souvenirs. You can easily spend a whole day indulging in retail therapy and exploring the diverse shopping options.

Lastly, a visit to Golden Gai is highly recommended for those seeking a unique and nostalgic experience. This narrow alleyway is lined with tiny bars and pubs, each with its own distinct character. It’s a great place to immerse yourself in Tokyo’s nightlife, meet locals, and discover the city’s hidden gems.

Overall, despite the hotel’s distance from the bustling Shinjuku Station, there are plenty of exciting attractions nearby. From the peaceful Shinjuku Gyoen to the lively streets of Kabukicho, there is something for everyone in this vibrant neighborhood. I recommend exploring these attractions during your stay at Geio Plaza Hotel for an unforgettable experience in Tokyo.
